Jim, it really is a classy-looking set of books. My daughter found a complete set for sale and knew I'd love it, so she gave me a set for Christmas. Lord knows how much it set her back.

A few of them are available in other editions -- Taylor, Gordon, etc. -- but most of them I've never seen elsewhere.

And there are so many neat accounts from veterans with such different experiences -- Army Life in a Black Regiment, The Narrative of a Blockade Runner, In and Out of Rebel Prisons, Hardtack and Coffee, The Story of a Cannoneer Under Stonewall Jackson, Life in the Confederate Army, etc., etc.

I've read and re-read them all, and some of them I've read 3 or 4 times over the years -- "Mosby's Rangers" and "One of Jackson's Foot Cavalry" are two of my favorites.
