Robert Echols, 38th Ar Infantry Reg. Co I, had at least four minor children in 1860. Neither he or his wife are found in 1870. Three children are living with different families in
1870 Independence county, Ar.
Would someone have filed for a pension for these children? I don't know if there are guardianship papers on any of them yet. How soon were pensions available after the war?
