Arkansans at Mobile Campaign?

I apologize for the empty entry. My hands were working faster than my brain.

Thanks to Bryan and his information on the Alabama site, I come, hat in hand seeking more information on my great-great grandfather Walter Hansford Williams of the 23rd Arkansas Infantry. Family oral tradition is he was shot in the head and killed in 1865 near Mobile, Alabama. A written family history is that his cousin William A Thompson of the 2nd Arkanas Mounted Rifles was with him. Thompson returned to Arkansas and informed Hansford's widow. Neither of these units is listed in the participates of the Mobile Campaign. Hansford immigrated from Georgia to Arkansas. He could have joined one of the Georgia units there, or could have been part of a loosely formed group, as I understand did happen. Does anyone have any information on either of these men? I am assuming the term "cousin" could have been used in the period's vernacular which identified "cousins" rather loosely.
