The report I cited, was a Federal investigation into the atrocities by Totten's Brigade. It was written by Capt. Joseph Peevey, Co. B, Hunters Infantry Regiment. It was Peevey who called them Hessians. I personnaly surmise that it was probably a Regiment out of Missouri with a lot of Germans in it,,,I didn't research it any further,,
