May I ask that we either drop the "Southern Unionist Thread" or steer it back to Arkansas and the Civil War. This area of discussion is very dangerous for some people and they are unable to control their passions and emotions on this subject. If you do want to continue with the thread, at the very least, please source your information and leave out any descriptive adjectives referring to Union or Confederate soldiers as devils, drunks, socialists or anything else meant to demean one side or the other unless it is a direct quote from a period report or book.
