The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Mike, take a look at an Arkansas map and find the town of Lonoke, between Little Rock and Memphis. Present-day Lonoke corresponds roughly to the site of Brownsville Station. The old community of Brownsville itself was a couple of miles north of present-day Lonoke. There's not much there now except a wide spot in the road and an old cemetery, but it was a thriving town in Civil War times with enough men to form two or three companies of Confederate volunteers.
