The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Everything I've read is great. It gives me a real context for a part of the war in Arkansas that I had no idea about.

Ironically, my grandfather was born on October 19, 1864 in Lincoln Co., probably near Star City, (that's where his father, P.A. Thomasson, is buried) and just as the 3rd Michigan was moving into the Brownsville Station camp perhaps 50 miles north. I have other family stories about that part of Arkansas during the war which makes all of this special.
