REVISION ON BIBLE CLOSURE - After finally viewing the little 3x4 1/2 in. Bible, it DOES NOT have a clasp but instead its a folder closure slide. (or a little loop tab where the extended leather slides in under the loop)...its really really old, and I believe that it was prepared for James FORD to carry with him since it has all of his children and wife listed, along with their vitals; nothing on him except there is a LAST entry, and this is the date of 6th or 26th 1861. Since James joined the Confederate Army in 1861, I believe this date was jotted down for him to remember, or the family, for posterity. Who knows for certain now? I'm just grateful that a relative of mine kept it all these years without tossing everything in the very old trunk. I'm very lucky to have this! Glynda Ford Ellman
