One more thing about the 35th Arkansas roster....

I thought the world of Ed Gerdes, and I was proud to be his partner on the webpage, but in his later years I'm sorry to say that, with his failing eyesight, he made a number of transcription errors. I don't say that to diminish him in any way, but it is something to keep in mind when citing Ed's later work.

I've done my own transcriptions from some of the microfilms that Ed transcribed, so I have in my files what I believe to be are accurate records (which I have expanded with information from a wide variety of other verifiable sources). If you run across anything on the webpage that doesn't look quite right, let me know and I'll pass on to you the updated information from my files.

Ed's heirs won't allow any changes or corrections to the webpage. They want to preserve it as is (errors and all) as a memorial to his memory.
