There was no POW camp at Jacksonport. When Brig. Gen. M. Jeff. Thompson entered into negotiations with U.S. forces to surrender his command at the end of the war, his troops were widely scattered. It was agreed that his troops would rendezvous at two places -- Wittsburg, Arkansas, on May 5, 1865; and Jacksonport, Arkansas, on June 5, 1865 -- to receive their paroles.

I have a copy of the Wittsburg and Jacksonport parole lists (supposedly complete). The only Borden listed is a Pvt. C. A. Borden, Co. H, Fristoe's Missouri Cavalry, paroled at Jacksonport on June 25, 1865. The names on the parole lists were horribly misspelled in many cases, so unfortunately the index is only useful up to a point.
