Interestingly, Capt O C Gray, Co A, 3rd Ark Cav bought his 1877 home site across Gregg Ave from Gregg in Fayetteville, spliting off eastern portion to "Frisco" RR where now is their historic station and where Gray's son paid $5/mo to learn telepgraphy in 1882/3 beoming vice-chairman Union Pacific RR in 1937 after 56 yrs of railroading.

Gregg and Gray shared interest in education both serving local school board, --- fathers of first public school (Washington) for the city of Fayetteville in 1885.
