I have the original picture of McCray. My best guess is that it was taken after the war. Tell me the best way to get it to you.
I've spent some time gathering information on McCray's life and his roll in the Civil War. I have concluded that he was more involved in events in the war than he is recognized for.
I remembered after I received your response that you had sent me a map of Dunning some years ago of which I am very grateful. I would love any information on the cemetery you can share with me.I received a packet from the Chicago Historical Society with many articles and visited Dunning in 1998. At that time I didn't know what I was looking for and found the shopping center. I went to Oakwood Cemetery across the street and asked what had happened. They knew nothing and offered no help. I went back across the street and asked the first person I saw about it and was told everything.
Many people have contacted me over the years with questions concerning their ancestors. I wish someone could locate the list of burials for them.
