I received Kate Jones Widow's Pension record for her husband James N. Jones. A proof of service was made by a comrade, F.E.P. Brooks. He states that James N. Jones was in Hill's Ark. Cav. Vols. from 1862 until the end of the war.
I am still looking for where James N. Jones might have joined. I can't find him on any roster. I am trying to find him in 1860 and 1870. According to family stories, he was in Washington County about that time. I think he might have been in Carroll County. He and Kate married in Yell County in 1874 and lived in Crawford, Johnson, and Pope County.

Does anyone have any information about this group or where they formed? Thanks for any information.
