He enlisted in Phillips County, AR in 1862. John H. Moore was on a "roll of Prisoners of War" received at Camp Douglas, IL from Helena, AR March 5, 1865. AR December 22, 1864. "John H. Moore Sergt. C.A. 1 Regt. Ark Cav. appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War at Camp Douglas, Chicago, IL, discharged June 19, 1865 in accordance with General Orders No. 109, A.G.O., Washington, D.C., June 6, 1865." John H Moore died Dec 6, 1886 aged 52 yrs, 10mos at Oak Forrest. According to the 1870 census he was born in NC
