I was reading about the aftermath of Pea Ridge and how Van Dorn reorganized his army at Fort Smith then moves east toward northeast Arkansas. Does anyone know how many men he had in camp at Ft. Smith and how his army was organized?
And how many men if any did he leave in Arkansas after crossing the Mississippi river?
