Hello- I am brand new at this and need lots of help.I am searching for a James (M.) Gibson born in Guilford County,North Carolina in 1824. Moved with many families from that area to Hardeman and McNairy Counties in Tennesse in the 1840's. Married Mary Ann(Polly) Lineberry along the way in Murray county Georgia (1847).The 1850 census shows James, Mary and 2 sons: Jacob and John. Mary died in 1858 and by the 1860 census John and Jacob live with maternal grandmother and James Gibson has moved to Polk, County Arkansas to live or work w/ his wife's sister and husband (Dempsey and Elizabeth Lineberry Hill). When the war started I have no idea if he enlisted with Tennessee or Arkansas, Union or Confederate??? Family records only show that he died during the war. If any can help with information about him, I thank you with all my heart.
