Re: Arkansas Troops/Western Confederate Flag

Thank you very much,Sir. What is the "12th Louisiana Infantry" below your name about? In addition to the Arkansas units I mentioned in the initial post, Col.John S.Scott's 1st Louisiana Cavalry also played an extremely prominent role in both the engagement preceding it, and the Battle of Richmond,KY itself. Are you from Louisiana? If so, or if your family comes from there, do you know anything about Scott's 1st Louisiana Cav? Any info on the unit at all would be appreciated. I know that Col.Scott was born and raised in East Feliciana Parrish,Louisiana, and was only 26 years old in 1862. While serving as a scout for the Army of Northern Virginia(later known as that)in June 1861,Scott was sent home to raise a cavalry regiment. From what I've learned so far, the 1st Louisiana Cavalry was raised from the men of Baton Rouge and the area surrounding it. I am hoping that someone can add to this, the little knowledge that I have on the regiment. Thanks again,Sir. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
