1st Ark Inf Regiment, Co. B - Captain Stark

Seeking original Confederate portraits of two relatives:
Capt Charles S. Stark - Co B, 1st Ark Infantry Regiment
James H. Stark, Scoggins Battery, Georgia

A scanned copy of Capt Stark's portrait can be seen at:

His picture was last known to be in possession of collector Gary Hendershott of Arkansas in the 1970's.

Am hoping that whoever owns this picture may also have purchased the companion picture of Capt Stark's brother. Both formal portraits were taken in the same studio with the same pose, background and mat.

Brother James Stark joined Scoggins Battery and is wearing an artillery uniform with a plumed hat. His picture didn't have any writing on it to identify him.

We have a scanned copy of Capt Charles Stark's picture but not of James Stark's portrait.

They were both for sale in Mary Stovall's antique store in White Hall, Arkansas in the early 1970's.

David Perdue of Pine Bluff bought the picture of Capt. Stark, which he later traded to Gary Hendershott of Little Rock. That is where the trail goes cold for Capt Stark.

We do not know what happened to James Stark's picture at Stovall's Antiques but assume that Mr. Hendershott may have also acquired it since he was in the area and actively shopping for Confederate portraits at the time.

Any help you can give in locating either one of these pictures would be greatly appreciated.

We do not want to buy them or take them away from anyone. Just want to know their whereabouts and get a scanned copy of the James Stark portrait.

Thanks for your help.
