Reading a couple of diaries, I found mention of the Hempstead Rifles, Hempstead Cavalry and Hempstead Plowboys.

Apparently these men were assigned to official units sometime in 1861-1862. I checked the Gerdes site and found no mention of the Hempstead Co volunteer units, so surely there are no records, correct? I am just looking for a list of names.
