My children are direct decendents to Private James Dunlavy. He is the only private in the history of the United States to capture a general. Just wanted to let you know his last name is mispelled in the article. We have some pictures and copies of newspaper articles when the city of Fort Scott awarded him a set of pearl handled pistols. We also have a letter exchanged between he and Marmaduke after the war. They became good friends and corresponded frequently.
