Re: Co I, 2nd Arkansas Infantry Regiment

Bill, there was no rhyme or reason as to where the sick of the 2nd Arkansas Infantry were hospitalized. During the period January 1 to April 30, 1862, I've found isolated records of them in hospitals in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and even a couple in Virginia -- at least one at Danville and one at Richmond. I don't know why they were scattered all over the Confederacy. I haven't found a record of where Elias Presley was hospitalized.

Hindman's Legion never saw any action. It was only in existence for a month or two, and was broken up before any Arkansas troops crossed the Mississippi River.
