The only significant influx of replacements for the 3rd Arkansas came from the 2nd Arkansas Battalion, which was disbanded in July 1862 and its survivors transferred to the 3rd Arkansas -- however, over half of the men were discharged for various disabilities within a month.

A small group of volunteers from South Arkansas joined the regiment in April 1862 -- the result of the only known recruiting detail that the regiment was able to send to Arkansas.

In April 1863, the 3rd Arkansas received its only conscripts -- about 20 or so men who had been conscripted at Camden in March. Most of them died in service that same year.

Apart from those two sources, the 3rd Arkansas picked up a recruit here and there in Virginia and Tennessee, and received a few transfers (less than a dozen) from other regiments.
