I read one article on the net that said Col Monroe's unit could put "White Oak Gap" honors on their colors for the Battle of Devil's Backbone. Anyone know what the historical source for this is? Any idea what the colors would look like if one wanted to replicate this? A standard square battle flag with white block letters maybe?
