Hello. My two cents for what it is worth is that if he rode with the 46th Atkansas under Price, he had to be young, tough, and strong. A lot of those guys were lost is what I have been led to believe.
Also, there is a history of sorts of the 36th Arkansas CSA at the Butler Center. I would suggest you contact Brian Roberson at the Butler Center if you want a little more info.
It was written by a Price who is currently in the military, possibly in Iraq. His ancestor had served with the 36th but his ancestor was not one of the Prices from the White County area. I did have his e-mail but it was lost in a computer melt-down.
Price said his grandmother, who had shared her tall tales about her grandfather, would be amazed to know that he was an officer with the Yankee army.
The 36th was in Texas when the war ended and surrendered with Kirby Smith. My ancestor, Pleas Loyd out of White County, was a Sgt. with the 36th.
