Re: Gunter's Ark. Cav. Battalion

Here's a blog by Andrew Wagenhoffer on Haimerl's book

Yes Bryan, I have a stack of books that are just waiting for me to get to. I think you are right about the bulk of available good literature and I want to thank you for your fascinating book reports. The one you wrote on the Dr. McPheeters book made me rush right out and order it. Wonderful! It's everything that you claimed and I think I'm a better man for having read it.

I'm finishing Wilson's Creek by Piston and Hatcher right now and it is thought provokingly excellent (GGrand Uncle wounded w/1stArk Mntd Rifles). Kenneth Noe's Perryville was also super (GGrandaddy was with Bushrod Johnson [30th Ark Inf]).

I'm finding more references by reading through the Bibliographies and footnotes. I'll just have to put off retirement for a little longer so I can build my library. I'll put "Rebel Watchdog" on my list now.

By the way Bryan, a 160 gb "External Hard Drive" cleared up all my computer problems (photos, emails, etc. all go in a file in a pocket sized gizmo). pretty simple; just plug it in and let it acclimate to your computer.

Happy Hunting!
