I just noticed your post about John Mothershead (Mothershed) and we may be looking for the same person except the person I'm researching is William Jackson Mothershead (Mothershed). He was born in Mississippi about 1835 and married a Martha Somerville and they moved to Arkansas but for some reason left their daughter Maggie with her grandmother Frances and her second husband who was a Wiltshire living in Carroll County Mississippi. The story sounds pretty similar. Do you think we might be able to trade information?
