Yeah, and they hung Henry Wirz, the commander of Andersonville, for far less. They generally promoted the Commanders of Camp Douglas.

Professoer like Charles Sanders need to read a little more History and put it into proper prespective. There is a whole lot of difference between having the resources and not having those resources.

Those type of events were happening in 1861 and '62 at Camp Douglas. The same can not be said of Libby Prison in Richmond at the same time period. The "Infamous" threatment at Andersonville wasn't until 1864 and then was caused because General U.S. Grant (certainly NOT a Southerner)suppended the exchange policy which would have allowed the Union POW's to have been sent back North.

I wonder how many old southern boys had spent time in the hospitality of Camp Douglas and came back home to tell about how the Yankee's had theatened them by 1864?

One lecture no matter how compelling doesn't convience me that there were simular policies between the Northern and southern Prisons.
