Thank you for the information. I will check these when I go back to Wallace State College. If I can find a muster roll that shows he was killed in Decatur, AL. I will know I have the right one. I don't have a clue where he was from but did find a Susan Robertson as his mother in Ark.
The letter states his mother was Susanah Robertson. There are so many James M. Robertson, so it will be a long search.
