my gg grandfather john m. johnson was in the 5th arkansas cavalry. was from clay county arkansas. his widow was c. n. john son. we have a copy of where she applie dfor a widows pension. that is all the info i have. i have found that the 5th cavalry was signed over to other regiments while they were in the war. he has no civil war headstone. that is why i am searching to find information.
