Thanks for your thoughts on this matter. I recently found a soldier's copy of his parole, that was given at Ft. Smith, that was attached by his widow to a pension application in Oklahoma. I tried to find the Federal copy to no avail. It wasn't in a CMSR or in the M347 rolls (unfiled papers and slips.) I agree, I think NARA has some Conf. stuff, especially from Ark. and IT that has not been microfilmed or made available to researchers.
