Hello Don, from my past experience which is NOT always correct the dead a De Valls Bluff Arkansas would have been taken to the large Union graveyard at Helena, Arkansas. Well after the War, the Union soldiers bodies were removed to the Memphis National Cemetery from Helena, Arkansas. Chalk was used to identify the coffins and in the course of the ride up the Mississippi River a hard rain took place and washed out the idenity of many of the soldiers. The ones they did NOT have a name for were marked "Unknown" At the Memphis National Cemetery there are a very high percentage of Unknown graves. The chances of his body taken to Memphis from its orginal site in De Valls Bluff via Helena are good.
