Ken, the "Belle Point Guards" were attached to the 5th Regiment Arkansas State Troops (Col. Thomas Pleasant Dockery) as Company G. The company was recruited in Sebastian County, largely from among the German population of Fort Smith.

The 5th Arkansas State Troops were mustered out of service shortly after the battle of Wilson's Creek, and the companies were disbanded.
