Ken, that's the same man -- Paul Richard Krone. The 51st Regiment Arkansas Militia was the militia regiment of Sebastian County, part of the prewar Arkansas State Militia. The old militia became a paper organization when the war started, although some of the regiments held one last annual muster for inspection and drill in the Spring of 1862. Krone was the second lieutenant of Co. B, 51st Arkansas Militia, which held its last muster at Fort Smith during the period March 4-14, 1862. By that time, most the men of military age had already joined various Confederate regiments. It was mostly the older men who showed up for muster. After the Spring of 1862, the militia regiments had ceased to exist. Their place was taken by home guard and local defense companies.
