Field & Staff AR 36th Infantry

6th Infantry Regiment completed its organization in January, 1863, and was the successor to McRae's 28th Regiment. It served under McRae, L. C. Gause, and Roane in the Trans-Mississippi Department. In the fight at Helena this unit reported 21 killed, 70 wounded, and 68 missing. It then participated in the engagement at Jenkins' Ferry and later saw light action in Arkansas and Louisiana. The regiment was included in the surrender on June 2, 1865. The field officers were Colonels James M. Davie and John E. Glenn, Lieutenant Colonels W. S. Hanna and Walter C. Robinson, and Major Joseph F. Hathaway.
