Re: Who were Capt. Chas. G. Newman & Capt. C.C. Wo

Charles G. Newman was captain of Co. C, 35th Arkansas Infantry. He had previously served as a lieutenant in the 17th (Griffith's) Arkansas Infantry. After the war he was the owner and publisher of the "Pine Bluff Commercial" newspaper.

Columbus C. Wolfe was captain of Co. L, 6th (Monroe's) Arkansas Cavalry. He was captured at Linn Creek, Missouri, on October 25, 1864, but escaped at Vincennes, Indiana, while being transported to Johnson's Island, made his way back to the South, and rejoined his command in Texas before the war ended. He had previously served in Virginia as a corporal in the famous 3rd Arkansas Infantry.
