Can anyone help me try to locate records for Jesse H. Wolf from Izard County Ar who evidently enlisted for CSA service in what was known as Co. E of Fristoe's MO Infantry. What little I can find says within a very short period of time the men from Izard County in AR were transferred to the 14th AR Company I. However, Jesse H. Wolf's name is not found there. However, all of his brothers and other kinfolks are definitely listed in the AR 14th. His name is only associated with the Fristoe's outfit. The widow of Jesse H. Wolf, Jane, received a pension number. How did she get a pension if there are NO MILITARY records for Jesse H. Wolf. Though it is well known to family history that the two years he was in service he was in the AR unit, no records exist. The AR History Commission only furnishes me a one page document that says the 1863-1865 Co E of Fristoe's Regiment. I am trying to do UDC papers and they say they must have the military service records. The UDC office only has that his name is associated with Fristoe's Reginment. They also have nothing more. Can anyone give me guidance. Am I wrong in thinking that there had to be more than just this one sheet saying the MO company E in order for the widow to receive a pension?
