The Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock Arkansas is also a good bet for information. There may, I believe, have even been a biography written on Col Shaver. There are others on this board that are far more knowledgeable about the many details of Col Shavers than I. My Involvement with his history was while he was in Command of the "basic Training encampment" Camp of Instruction in the summer of 1862 at Pine Bluff. Which had previously been unknown until the discovery of the Gen. Thomas C. Hindman telegraphs to him in the Peter W. Alexander Papers of Columbia University in New York.
