The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Capt. Walton Company in Hunters Regt.

I am trying to decide what to do with my grandfathers diary. it is in pretty bad shape, but still mostly legible. I have emailed the arkansas historical commission. I am wondering if there are places I should post this information? WOuld you have any recommendations?

1o years ago, Col. J.V. Witt a decendent of AR WItt contacted me and I sent him copies of some of the pages where it referred to Witt and battles etc. I have moved several times and lost contact with him. Do you happen to know if he is still around? He was in West Springfield VA when he wrote me before. He is actually the first person to work on transcribing the diary. My daughther just about finished it all...lots of work.

It is 66 pages and is loaded with men's names etc. I imagine would be beneficial to some.

Thanks for your input
