can anyone give me more information on this gentleman? I told a descendent of his I would try and help find info on him. The CWSSS lists a Thomas Sherman in the 1sr Ark cavalry.

He came to Arkansas in 1857, located at Elm Springs, AR, where he went into the general mercantile business. His store was burned and he moved his family before going away with the Confederate army. He was captured in south Arkansas and carried to Indiana where he was kept in prison until the close of the war. "
