Here are pages 4 and 5. 10 years ago Col. J.V.Witt, USA Ret. helped with a few of the pages. We have now about finished the work on this diary and we were careful to keep the text and the pages in order. We will get it to the Arkansas History Commission/State Archives..later this summer so they can copy it.

1864 killed.
21st at Dover, Pope County, Ark.
30 March at Mt. Elby [Mount Elba], Bradly Co.
13 April at Prairie de Ann, Hempstead Co, Ark.
18th Maxies fight – Washita Co Ark. At Poison Springs. Captured two Hundred wagons and
Teams. Killed four Hundred Negroes, One Hundred Yankees and took one hundred prisoners.
April 25th Genl. Fagan’s Fight at Marks Mill, Bradley Co. Ark. Captured the [Rise} of two hundred wagons and teams, Eleven Hundred and [sixty] prisoners, two hundred killed and wounded. Our loss small.
Gen. Kirby Smith’s Fight on the 30th of April, Jenkins Ferry, Saline River, Dallas County, Ark. [ ] Yankees stampeded. [ ] Killed 9 Wounded n…[looks like not]
