In addition to Alan Thompson's excellent description concerning Dr. Scott's lecture at PRNMP, I learned that the Confederates were better armed that previously thought. After analyzing the material collected during the dig, it was be determined that many of the Confederates were as well armed at the Union soldiers. This information came as a major surprise to me.
