Hello. If Harrison was in the Federal Prison, there should be a record of it. It is very possible that he was a undercover CSA man to be honest.
Check a book called Rebel's Hell to see if he is listed as being a prisoner there. The book was written by using the records from the National Archives.
If Harrison died at the Yankee Prison during the Civil War, he was first buried at what is called Mt. Holly and then dug up and moved after the
war ended. He was then buried then outside of the National Cemetery in Little Rock and is in one of those many graves marked
CSA Unknown.
The reason I believe this to be true, is that is what happened to my own ancestor who was Lt. Fielding Price out of White County,
Arkansas of the 1st Arkansas Cav. CSA under Dobbins.
Lt. Price was captured in eastern Arkansas on his way according to oral history to provide fresh mounts for Gen. Sterling Price
who had returned from the raid north into Missouri. Fielding Price was captured in late November of 1864 and died on Feb. 1, 1865 of smallpox.
It took me at least 25 years to get the oral history to fit with the documented history. I was able to because of the kindness of others on this board.
The book will have the information if it is as you say. You will need to get a copy through inter-library loan and it will cost you a small fee.
I just have to ask if by chance if the name of Pleasant Harrison Loyd formerly of Tennessee means anything to you?
He was the son-in-law of Lt Fielding Price who marched with the 36th Arkansas CSA. Pleas made it home from the war, but died soon after.
He was my gg grandfather and I have never been able to connect him to anywhere. With Pleas' death, my great grandmother, Mary Ann Loyd
Harper, became a total orphan and was raised by her widowed grandmother, Polly Guthrie Price in White County, Arkansas.
