Question for Bryan

Bryan:
In response to a question from a cousin I revisited my genealogy and family lore records to try to answer some questions about the four grandsons of Alva Waters Floyd who served in the Confederate forces during the Civil War. I visited the Edward Gerdes web site and found information that differed from that that I had . I thought I got my info at the History Commission, but, unfortunately, I did not always document my sources so cannot be certain of that. The four sons were: H. T. Floyd and J. M. Floyd, both of whom served in Co. I of the 34th Inf. Regt. and James Floyd who served in Co.I of the 15th N/W Ark. Inf. Regt. and Wm. W. Floyd who served in Co. C of the same unit. My quesstion concerns William. My records showed him as dying in Johnson Island, Erie Co. Ohio as a POW. The information on the Gerdes Home Page shows him in the hospital at Richmond, Va. in May 1864 as the final word on him. Do you have anything further? I would really like to know what finally happened to him. I'm 86 now. I spent much time with both my grandfathers as a young boy. We talked much about the WAR, but the questions I asked then are not the same ones I would ask now. Then I was mostly interested in events. Today I am interested in individuals and how events of that time period impacted their lives.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Ed
