Okay, George another question for you.
Since I realize that Dobbins was on the raid, does anyone know how many of his 1st Arkansas
men went with him?
Did most of the 1st Arkansas Cav. go along or only part or is it even possible to tell?
I asked that because Lt. Fieldng Price who was with the 1st Arkansas Cav.was captured in eastern
Arkansas after the group had returned in late November.
I had the flash thought wondering if perhaps Fielding had also gone to Missouri with General Price.
Oral family history says that Lt. Fredrick Price brought General Price by to meet his brother
Fielding in what is now White County indicating that Fielding had stayed home.
According to that oral history, General Price was needing fresh horses and Fielding
was trying to provide them.
But until I discovered he was actually Lt. Fielding Price, that was a surprise to his great grands as no
one even knew he was in the military. (Fielding was my ggg grandfather.)
I know that my ggg uncle Fredrick Price who was a Lt under Gen. Price was with the group on the raid
because of what Goodspeeds says.
All those people who went north said it as they got older as they took pride in having
been with Price.
Any thoughts or is it simply to confusing as I stated it?
Thanks-
Linda
