I believe that Mr. Pence's fine History of the 19th Arkansas Infantry deals with that portion of Dawson's Command that was not captured at Arkansas Post remained west of the Mississippi River in Arkansas. I don't it deals with those men who were captured, sent to prison and exchanged at City Point Va. and became part of the 19th/24th Arkansas under Cleburne's command.
