Re: Hiram Boyd in 15th Arkansas Militia

Jerry, the "Herron" Boyd of Co. C, 1st Arkansas Infantry, U.S. Volunteers, is actually Hiram Boyd. According to his service record, he was born c1823 in McHenry County, Illinois. I can't tell for sure if he is the same man who served in Co. E, 15th Arkansas Militia. The 15th Arkansas Militia was the militia regiment of Pope County. If your Hiram Boyd lived in Pope County when the war started, and if his date and place of birth match the man who served in the 1st Arkansas (Union) Infantry, then they are one and the same. If that's the case, would you mind letting us know? Thanks.
