Re: T.I. Moore, 13th TN Infantry

My daughter took Russian for her foreign language requirement in college. She got pretty good at it, so when her college started a student exchange program with Moscow State University she spent a semester there. It was a real eye-opener for her. This was just a couple of years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and apparently things were pretty grim over there. She said the university's cafeteria only served one meal a day, and everyday it was the same thing -- potato soup, black bread and tea. She said she was hungry all the time she was over there. When she got home, one of the first things she did was open the refrigerator door and just stand there and stare. She said, Milk! Eggs! Butter! -- I'd forgotten about them!
