Re: William G. Johnson, Lafayette Co., AR

The soldier you're looking for is probably Pvt. William G. Johnson, Co. K, 19th (Dockery's) Arkansas Infantry. This company was recruited in Lafayette and Columbia counties. W. G. Johnson enlisted at Magnolia, Arkansas, on March 8, 1862. He died, probably of disease, in a hospital at Lauderdale Springs, Mississippi, on October 2, 1862. His place of interment is not identified in his service record.
