I am trying to find what happened to my great-uncle, Benjamin Curry Jones, who enlisted in Dardanelle, Yell County on December 21, 1861 in Co. "E", 17th Lemoyne's) Arkansas Regiment of Infantry for a period of 12 months. At that time he was married and had four young children. His muster roll I have for Co E is for the period Dec. 21, 1861, the date he enlisted, to Jan. 20, 1862 but the roll was dated April 28, 1862. The roll states that Benjamin C. Jones was last paid on Jan. 20, 1862 and that he is "Absent on sick furlough." That is the last I can find of him.

Does anyone have any ideas about where I could search to find what happened to him?
