Linda, as always I'm glad to help. You've certainly helped a lot of people with your own research, so "turn about is fair play."

The 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles is of great personal interest to me, since I had some kin who served in Company K of the regiment. Corporal Martin Van Buren Howerton was severely wounded and captured at Murfreesboro. Private William Howerton was mortally wounded at Chickamauga, and later named to the Roll of Honor for his bravery there. They were from the Madison County side of the clan.
